ByteNorth
Terms of work
ByteNorth is an independent IT and console service in County Durham, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon and Darlington. We are not affiliated with Lenovo, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or any other manufacturer.
Your data
You are responsible for backing up files, accounts and licences before you leave a device with us. We take care, but we are not liable for loss of data, photos, saves or software. Say if you want a backup adding to the job — that is extra.
What we can and can’t promise
A clean, re-paste or install improves cooling and setup. It does not guarantee the machine is fault-free or will last a set time. Pre-existing damage, liquid, age, and missing parts can limit what we can do. If we open a device and the fault is worse than described, we will stop and tell you before we spend more.
Quotes
Prices on the site and on flyers are starting prices. The job total is agreed before we start. The £40 hold comes off the final invoice. If you cancel after the hold is taken, we may keep it if we have already reserved the slot or ordered parts.
Parts and customer-supplied parts
New parts are charged on top. If you supply a part, we will fit it with care but we can’t warranty that part.
Aftercare
Workmanship on a clean / re-paste is covered for 30 days if the same fault comes back and the device hasn’t been opened or damaged since. That does not cover a new fault, liquid, drops, or wear. Keep the receipt.
Photos
We photograph devices on intake and during work for our records. We may use photos on social media with serial numbers, names and personal files removed. Say if you don’t want that.
Collection
Machines not collected within 28 days of us telling you they are ready may be stored or disposed of after further notice. We will try to contact you first.
Liability
We are not liable for indirect loss (time off work, missed bookings, lost business). Our liability for a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job.
Advice
Anything we say on the site, Instagram, Stories, DMs or in person is general guidance for a local repair shop. It is not a guarantee, a diagnosis of your machine, or official advice from a manufacturer. A proper answer starts when we have the device. Don’t take a post as a promise that we can fix yours.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Your statutory rights are not affected.
